As part of world book day we spent the day doing lots of book related activities. We had a book search challenge and worked in pairs to find words from a list of 16. All the children did so well with this challenge and supported each other in their pairs. The winning pair with a score of 15/16 was Alfie and Jessica.
Olivia and Charlie spoke at our March Achievement Assembly about what they are proud of.
As part of one of our key assessment tasks the children have been learning about estimation and accurate counting. The children have taken part in lots of different counting tasks and are able to accurately count a number of objects.
As part of our growing topic the children worked in small co-operative groups to design and make a human body using junk material. They then had to present their model to the class and talk about how they made it.
We had our visiting maths specialist come into our class to show us some new fun maths games.
Every day we do our exercise while we are counting. We count up to 100 and count backwards from 20 and we tried counting backwards from 30 yesterday.
As part of our key assessment task we have been looking at estimation and counting. Today the children were looking at strategies to help with making counting easier.
On Monday at our assembly the Scots poem recital top 3 were announced and presented with certificates and prizes. We also took along examples of our Scottish Artist work which we also completed. It is titled “Katie Morag delivers the mail to ma hoose”.
